Peng Fu is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois. His research focuses on the development of effective techniques and algorithms for remote sensing applications in agriculture and urbanization for sustainable development and management. For the TERRA-MEPP project, he will be developing and applying remote sensing and data assimilation to high-throughput phenotype key physiological traits associated with productivity, yield, and partitioning of biomass. Peng earned his bachelor's degree in geographic information systems from Huazhong Agriculture University in China. He received his master's degree in geography and went on to earn his doctorate in spatial earth sciences/remote sensing from Indiana State University. His work is published in many peer-reviewed journals, including Pattern Recognition, Remote Sensing of Environment and ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
