Brandon Monier
| | Cornell UniversityBrandon Monier is a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University. His research interests involve grass-based systems biology, software development, and education. Monier earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, a master’s degree in plant sciences, and a doctorate in biology from South Dakota State University. His past research focused on microbial interactions in next-generation lignocellulosic feedstocks and their impact on biomass development. For TERRA, Monier plans on applying the techniques he acquired from his previous research into the development of a database for genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and transcriptome-wide association supplements (TWAS) results in maize and sorghum varieties using haplotypes. His work is published in peer-reviewed journals including Briefings in Bioinformatics, PLOS Computational Biology, and Springer.
