Bethany Blakely

Bethany Blakely is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois. Her research has historically focused on the study of the relationship between human land use decisions, ecology, and climate. For TERRA, Bethany’s objectives revolve around the analysis of hyperspectral data, and she will be providing analysis support for data collected over the past several summers at an experimental farm. She earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Ohio Northern University and went on to earn her doctorate in biological sciences from the University of Notre Dame. Her work is published in Environmental Research Letters, and she has participated in multiple outreach activities, including Science Sunday, Girls Ambitious about Learning Science (GALS), and the Indiana Master Naturalist.
